Nowas Tiöv Vrët

Nowas Tiöv Vrët (/ˈnowas/ /tjo˞v/ [dirty] [sling]) is a temperate Town located in the Zbëkfenfyë Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Nowas Tiöv Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Nowas Tiöv Vrët was founded by Qrazoc Zamezat, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Nowas Tiöv Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 7°C (44°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -10°C (14°F). Nowas Tiöv Vrët receives an average of 163 cm/y (64 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Nowas Tiöv Vrët covers an area of nearly 5 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 4322 m (14179 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Nowas Tiöv Vrët was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1369, by Qrazoc Zamezat. The establishment of Nowas Tiöv Vrët was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Nowas Tiöv Vrët's construction back out of the project. Qrazoc Zamezat pushed on reguardles, and Nowas Tiöv Vrët was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Nowas Tiöv Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nowas Tiöv Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Nowas Tiöv Vrët is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt flagstone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is the proud owner of a properly designed set of renforced walls made from mighty querried stone blocks. Their construction and material choices would make a dwarf weap with joy, for each and every part of the elaborate fortifications are purly functional and robust well byond reason. Even nonexperts can tell the walls are an excelent defencive structure. Nowas Tiöv Vrët's exceptionaly well made fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Nowas Tiöv Vrët has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Nowas Tiöv Vrët’s streets. The town is very clearly a joyfull place as well as relaxing. Music can be heard often, as well as laughter. The smell of food and drink permiates the air. You can’t help but smile.

Nowas Tiöv Vrët has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Nowas Tiöv Vrët has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Nowas Tiöv Vrët's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is recurring in Nowas Tiöv Vrët.

The Yothga near Nowas Tiöv Vrët are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Nowas Tiöv Vrët's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves orgies to channel Conjuration energies of tier 3 via throat chanting.

Economy

The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program. It differs from Standard Imperial censuses in that many of Tom's citizens, regardless of culture, work in more than one occupation or hold more than a single job. The instructors are rarely first-rate, usually serving only for the pay and status, but sometimes a genius sorcerer will find a reason to observe likely apprentices here. Given the unfortunate accident potential of the school, it’s probably isolated or well-fortified.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century after an anomalously snowy winter, runoff from snow-melt caused Loch Whillans to overflow its banks and spill into Backwater Crystal. The resulting flood was isolated to the area around Nowas Tiöv Vrët, which was swallowed by the waters for several days. Nowas Tiöv Vrët lost 205 people, 263 livestock, and 39 buildings in the disaster. The disaster is remembered as the Calamity Drownings.
